6. Information We Collect from Google

When you choose to connect your Google account to Edpursuit, we access and securely store specific information to provide our core services. This includes:

  • Basic Profile Information: Your full name, profile picture, and your email address.

  • Email Communications (Restricted Scopes): Specific email messages, thread histories, and email metadata (such as To, From, Date, and Subject) associated with your interactions with specified employees.

  • Email Settings: Your basic Google account settings, specifically your configured email signature, to append to outbound communications.

  1. How We Use Google User Data

We strictly use the data accessed from Google for the following specific purposes:

  • Authentication: To verify your identity and allow you to log in to our platform securely.

  • Communication Timelines: To synchronize and display relevant email threads alongside internal communication logs within employee profiles on our dashboard.

  • Email Dispatch: To allow you to seamlessly compose new emails or reply to existing threads directly from our platform.

We do not sell your Google user data to third parties, nor do we use it for advertising purposes.

8. Data Protection Mechanisms for Sensitive Data

Data Protection Mechanisms for Sensitive Data We take the security of your sensitive data (including OAuth tokens and email content) seriously. To protect this information, Edpursuit employs the following data protection mechanisms:

  • Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your browser, our application, and Google APIs is encrypted using industry-standard TLS 1.2+ (HTTPS) protocols.

  • Encryption at Rest: All sensitive user data, including Google OAuth refresh tokens, cached access tokens, and synced email body content, is encrypted at rest within our secure databases using AES-256 encryption.

  • Access Controls: Access to our database and server infrastructure is strictly limited to authorized personnel and is protected by multi-factor authentication (MFA) and role-based access controls (RBAC).

  • Data Retention: User data obtained via Google APIs is retained only as long as necessary to provide the application's functionality. When a user revokes access or deletes their account, the associated OAuth tokens and synced restricted email data are permanently purged from our systems.

9. Google API Services User Data Policy (Limited Use)

Edpursuit's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Furthermore, Edpursuit strictly prohibits the use of Google Workspace APIs (including email data) to develop, improve, or train generalized Artificial Intelligence (AI) and/or Machine Learning (ML) models.

10. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share your personal information with third parties except in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We may share data with trusted third-party vendors (e.g., payment processors, secure hosting services) solely for the purpose of running our technical infrastructure. These vendors are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and data processing addendums.

  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests by public authorities.

11. Data Storage and Retention

Your data is stored securely on our encrypted servers. We retain your Google user data only for as long as your account is active. If you choose to delete your account, all personal data associated with your Google profile will be permanently removed from our systems.
